EHang, a drone startup is pioneering passenger-grade autonomous aerial vehicles (AAVs) for urban air mobility solutions. EH216-S, EHang’s flagship product, was designed to represent a futuristic approach to urban transportation. Powered by electric propulsion systems, it has vertical takeoff and landing capabilities for short-distance passenger transport within cities. Emergency response and environmental monitoring are two other areas of smart city management for which EHang develops drones. 

Recently, EHang has conducted successful test flights in Mexico. Headquartered in Guangzhou, EHang’s operations span Asia-Pacific with growing interest from markets in Europe and North America.

2. Terra Drone: Japan’s Leading Drone Startup Revolutionising Infrastructure with 3D Mapping and LiDAR

Terra Drone develops drones with special sensors for industrial inspections. These drones help industries like oil & gas, construction and telecommunications. The startup uses LiDAR technology for accurate mapping and inspections. Its drones have AI software that automatically analyses data. This helps find structural problems or environmental changes quickly and accurately.


Terra Drone works with big companies in the Asia-Pacific region on infrastructure projects. It is one of the top leaders in industrial drone innovation worldwide. Recently, it launched Terra Xross 1, a drone for indoor inspections. Based in Tokyo, Terra Drone operates widely in the Asia-Pacific, where drone use is growing fast. The company plans to expand globally.

Zipline: The USA Drone Startup Revolutionising Deliveries with Precision and Speed

Zipline, a US drone startup, has redefined the role of unmanned aerial vehicles in emergency medical supply chains. Zipline’s mission is to build the world’s first logistics system to equally serve all people. Starting modestly in 2016 by delivering medicine in Rwanda, Zipline has since expanded into food, retail, and agricultural deliveries. It currently operates in eight countries spanning four continents.

Zipline’s fleet of fixed-wing drones is engineered for high-speed, long-distance delivery. Their autonomous electric drone systems incorporate advanced navigation, communication protocols, and precision drop-off mechanisms, making them one of the most innovative delivery solutions in the market.

Azur Drones: France’s Drone Startup Elevating Industrial Safety with AI-Powered Inspections

Azur Drones develops autonomous security and industrial monitoring drones using its docked UAV technology. The Skeyetech is a fully autonomous drone system. It can inspect industries, detect radiation leaks and measure hazardous gas levels without human intervention. The second-generation Skeyetech-DIZI adds photogrammetry capabilities for mining applications and automated radiation leak analysis.

Azur Drones has conducted more than 20,000 UAV flights for clients such as TotalEnergies and Avnir Energy. Its technology earned the “Products and Services Innovation” award at the World Nuclear Exhibition Awards. Headquartered in Bordeaux, Azur Drones operates internationally in Denmark, the Netherlands, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Germany through partnerships like its 24-country distribution deal with G4S.

Wingcopter: Germany’s Drone Startup Redefining Last-Mile Delivery with Tilt-Rotor Technology

Wingcopter develops drones to redefine delivery by making it faster and easier. 

The Wingcopter 198 is a special drone that can deliver up to three packages to different places in one trip. It uses smart AI to avoid obstacles and land accurately. It also has a unique tilt-rotor design to stay stable in strong winds. One person can control up to ten drones simultaneously, even if they can’t see them.

Wingcopter secured €40 million from the European Investment Bank to make more Wingcopter 198 drones. This drone can carry up to 6 kg and travel 75 km with a load or 110 km without cargo. Based in Germany, Wingcopter is expanding around the world while staying strong in Europe.

Dronamics: The UK Drone Startup Democratizing Cargo Transport with Middle-Mile Drones

Dronamics focuses on middle-mile cargo delivery using unmanned aerial vehicles designed for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Dronamics’ flagship product is the Black Swan cargo drone, capable of carrying up to 350 kg over distances of up to 2,500 km at a fraction of the cost of traditional air freight solutions. The company’s emphasis on middle-mile logistics fills a critical gap between long-haul transport and last-mile delivery.

Dronamics has formed partnerships with airports across Europe for dedicated droneports aimed at streamlining cargo operations. Headquartered in London, Dronamics has a strong presence across Europe but aims to expand globally as demand for efficient cargo solutions grows.
